"Meat Candy" is what my BF called this. He requested a creamy horseradish dip to go forth with information technology to residual the sweetness of the "meat candy". I will use the yummy "tiger dill sauce" recipe from Outback Steakhouse. Alloy together: 2/3 C. Sour Cream, 1/4 C. Mayonnaise, 3 tsp. Prepared Horseradish three/four tsp. Saccharide, 1/iv tsp Dill Weed.

Definite Man Pleasers!!! Use maple flavored salary for extra flavor and disposable baking sheets. Cooked for 35 minutes and upped the temp to 450 the terminal v minutes or so which helped carmelize the brown saccharide. Hint: If yous chose to up the temp, stand up guard over your oven as these are apt to burn quickly if you're not careful.

I accept fabricated these several times & they E'er dissappear! I pre-cook the bacon in the micro till soft before wrapping & putting them in the oven. I also line a baking sheet with foil, put the doggies on a baking rack on the foil, & then sprinkle the brown sugar on. This prevents a nasty clean up, and the saccharide & bacon grease meld. I put the doggies in a crock & pour the grease/sugar mix over them, sprinkle more chocolate-brown sugar on them, stir, and put the lid on the crock. It actually makes a great sauce on them!! yum yum yum hubby & I Dearest these!!

outstanding!! i've made these a couple of times for parties - and they always disapear so quickly! everyone raves about them! This last time i rolled them the night before (so i didn't have to prep the day of). dredged the bacon in brownish saccharide - and rolled and toothpicked right in the brown sugar. put them all in a bowl and marinated in the refrigerator over night (mm..y'all'll have a prissy "brownsugary marinade" the next day). baked about two hrs before the party - 350 about xv-20 min then flipped them and baked fifteen more min. And then put them all in a crockpot on depression and poured the "juices" that were in the marinating bowl (mixed with one/4 loving cup maple syrup) poured over smokies in the crockpot. kept on "low/warm" for the unabridged party. mmmm....perfect!!!

This is the easiest recipe e'er! It came out soo delicious even my three yr former loved them! She wouldn't stop eating it. I read some of the reviews before I made it. I put the brown sugar and little sausages in a gallon sized cypher lock bag, then shook information technology. I also used maple flavored bacon instead of the regular (let me tell you information technology brings more than to the recipe! A definate must effort!). Instead of using foil I put a cooling rack on the blistering tray and sprayed information technology with non stick cooking spray and then that the bacon won't stick to information technology and placed them on there, and I lined the tray with foil for easy make clean upwards. Information technology came out nice and crisp all over when it was washed. I baked it at 400Deg. F for xl-45 minutes and they came out nice and well-baked. With Super Bowl Lord's day coming upwards this volition exist the perfect bite sized snack for the fellas!

We call these "pig processed". This is a real man pleaser. Be sure to use cocktail smokies sausages instead of weiners for better flavour. These are smashing for tailgating, bowl parties or family get togethers. I don't detect it time consuming at all. Just whack your pound of bacon into thirds, wrap a piece effectually a smokie and stick a toothpick through it. I don't mensurate the brown sugar, merely dump it on. Be sure to line your pan with heavy foil so clean up is a breeze!

Wonderful! A Large hit at our football game political party! I wrap each smokie in 1/iii a piece of bacon. I did non utilise the toothpicks, they rolled nicely and stayed rolled without them. I used near 1 loving cup of dark-brown sugar, and baked for l minutes, then broiled on high for 4 minutes before removing to crockpot set on warm setting. Will make again and again! Thank you for a peachy recipe!
01/09/2006
What a dandy recipe using just a few ingredients. Served these every bit appetizers during the football game game and they disappeared in 15 minutes. I affair I institute was that 40 minutes wasn't actually enough time to get the bacon crisp. What I ended up doing was baking one hour at 325 degrees, then increasing that to 350 degrees for 15 more minutes. With these changes, they came out "perfect".

Slap-up recipe. I brand them every twelvemonth for Thanksgiving and Christmas. Covering the bacon in brown carbohydrate kickoff, then wrapping the mini wieners works well. And rather than using toothpicks, I just utilise big skewer sticks and put near 5-six on each stick. You can fit about ten-12 skewers on a baking sail, and it makes it very easy and quick to turn them half way through cooking. Virtually people bask eating them off the stick also, or you tin just remove them and put them in a crock pot/warming dish and they don't fall autonomously later existence cooked.
06/08/2011
I as well brand these salary wrapped smokies merely cook them at 250 for two and 1/2 hours. This "tiresome" cooks them and the bacon is Delicious !! Ane other thing, I besides lay out the strips of bacon and sprinkle with brown sugar, then lay the smokie on top and wrap. This keeps the sugar on the inside and makes a sort of glaze......yummy !!
04/08/2012
I made these for an office pot luck and they were a huge hit. After reading through reviews, here is how I did it: (Double batch, 2 freezer numberless} Night earlier, using thick cut bacon, cut bacon in thirds and wrapped and secured with toothpick. Put them all in a freezer bag with 1 cup brown saccharide. shook information technology a few times. In the morning time, on a foil covered, pam sprayed cookie sheet, sprinkled a bit more brown saccharide & baked at 400 for 30 minutes, each batch. Put i loving cup ordinary maple syrup in crock pot, put smokies in and sprinkled a fiddling more dark-brown sugar on top. When I got to my office, put slow cooker on warm til lunch time, about 4 hours. Came out perfect! I was embarrased by the praise I received. VERY easy.

I received this recipe from a friend 20 years ago and it is still my nigh requested titbit for gatherings and my families favorite. My recipe is a piddling dissimilar. I use 1 package bacon cut into one/4 pieces and 2 packages of reg trivial smokies and two cups brown sugar. Roll them upwardly and pile upward the sugar to glaze. I make a day alee of fourth dimension and give them fourth dimension to cure. Place them in a 9x13 drinking glass blistering dish and cover with foil. Shop in refrigerator until ready to cook. Bake at 350 for 45 minutes, uncover and cook an boosted 15-20mins. Do not line pan with foil (overcooks/burns). Immediately transfer to serving dish. Allow pan to sit down and cool and the grease will solidify making for an like shooting fish in a barrel clean up. These are so proficient!
02/05/2011
These are the best!!! One matter I learned is that if you put 5 to six of these on long bamboo skewers...they are much faster and easier to turn. When they are done you can but employ a fork to button them off. The bacon will concord tight by then.
12/fifteen/2005
A classic family favorite. Thought I'd share a tip for this i. Very cold bacon is best as suggested just I cut each strip (several at one time) into i/8 pieces. Put small slice of salary on top side of smokie and secure with toothpick. I apply same corporeality of brown saccharide. They taste just as proficient with a small piece of salary, wait prettier, and are a heck of a lot easier to clean up pan!
11/26/2011
Ane of our favorite holiday appetizers. I similar to serve this with a dip made from a cup each of barbeque sauce and grape jelly. These never fail to disappear.
01/05/2014
Hubs insisted I make these later someone brought them to a Christmas celebration at the office. I didn't call back I would exist a fan and information technology turned out I was correct. Rich, greasy and sweet. I become a piddling queasy merely thinking near them. (If I were to brand these again - and I won't - I would shave a few minutes off the cooking time as the bacon was a tad overdone)
11/09/2009
These crave some work but it's sooooo worth it. Few key things to retrieve: Prep the night earlier Skewer them to make flipping easier Utilise DISPOSIBLE FOIL SHEET PANS!!! Bake- then broil for just a few mins to crisp them up.
01/01/2007
I fabricated these for New Year'due south Eve. Everybody loved them. Personally, I thought they were a fleck too sweet, only that'due south just my taste. One word on the prep; I only put a piece of bacon on the cutting lath, wrapped the smokie in it until at that place was a slight overlap, cut the bacon with scissors, & stabbed it with a toothpick. Much easier than cutting the bacon into thirds since the smokies are not always the aforementioned size.
eleven/12/2005
these are addictive! Apply ane/2 strip of bacon per smokie..this is plenty! Also, for easy cleanup use parchment newspaper on cookie sheets. These tin can be rolled alee of time but Not sugared..information technology will melt and and then burn when they cook.
02/08/2011
I cut the bacon into 1/three but didnt have any toothpicks. It didnt thing. Used closer to a loving cup of brownish sugar to make sure all of the smokies were nicely covered. Baked as directed, then I baked them for three minutes to crisp the bacon. I also drizzled ane/ii cup maple syrup over the top after cooking to keep them moist while being kept warm equally another reviewer suggested. OMG. These did not terminal long. You might want to double or triple the recipe and be prepared to make them again.
05/xvi/2007
These were a big hitting at our BBQ party over the weekend. The guys devoured them. I used center cutting salary, cut in thirds, then wrapped each smokie securing with a toothpick. Before placing on the foil-lined cookie canvas, each salary-wrapped smokie was rolled in chocolate-brown saccharide. In one case all the smokies had been wrapped, secured and prepare for the oven, more brown sugar was added. Subsequently baking, I removed the smokies to a crock pot to continue warm and poured the drippings from the cookie canvas on top. It kept them moist and added more sugariness. My guests loved them!
05/09/2012
I have been making these exactly this manner for at least 10 years. Everytime I make them, they are always the showtime affair to become!! Anybody loves them and I always have several people ask me for the "recipe". They are e'er amazed at how simple they are to make. I would give x stars if I could.
02/06/2011
I followed this recipe to the letter squared! I made a double batch! With all the food at the Super Basin party, this was the first to empty out well within 20 minutes! I don't like bacon much, simply I did go back for more! Cheers for sharing your recipe!!! I already have requests to practise it agian. Yes for Greenbay!!!!
03/26/2011
So YUMMY, had a difficult time keeping them on the plate for anybody. I used a large ziploc bag and threw the brown sugar in there and then cut the bacon into ii pieces and shook it up. Wrapped each one with no toothpicks, fold down. I highly recommend using aluminum foil it'due south much easier to clean up. Y'all and your guests will relish these very much!
eleven/xviii/2009
Just fabricated these for a party and they were a big striking. Every bit per several reviews I used eye cut bacon. It is thicker cut and fewer slices per container, so 1 lb didn't embrace the whole pkg of smokies. I but cooked the uncovered smokies with the bacon wrapped all sprinkled liberally with the brown saccharide. The smokies that didn't have bacon picked upward all the flavors. I did the 325 for 35 mins and then put the broiler on high west/o moving them upward in the oven and they came out perfect. Afterwards cooking, I put them in a warmer w/ maple syrup drizzled over them and they were truly over the top.
01/16/2005
Never accept any of these leftover. I actually use a pound of smoked sausage that I cutting into about 1/2 inch thick discs, wrap those in a half piece of salary each, comprehend with chocolate-brown sugar in a nine ten 13 baking dish and bake for an hour at 350. Always a HUGE hit. :)
01/06/2011
These are awesome. I used centre cut bacon and cut them in half with kitchen sheers. I 3rd of a strip doesn't really practise the play tricks. I froze them like Jen R suggested simply when I cooked them at 400 degrees for 30 minutes, they burned with the brown sugar hardening on the bottom. So next I cooked them at 350 degrees for xl minutes and they were perfect. Once more, these are wonderful. I continue a supply in the freezer at all times.
02/07/2011
I made this as one of my Super Bowl appetizers. I had never had them before simply after reading the reviews I knew I had to try them. Plus I wanted to brand something that could exist fabricated upwardly ahead. I cut the bacon in 3rds, layed the brownish carbohydrate on the salary & then rolled up the smokie & secured with a toothpick. I lined a baking canvas with greased tin can foil & popped them in the oven when the Super Bowl started. They were washed in about 50 mins. I also made the dip listed on this site. These were devoured in no fourth dimension @ all & I was asked if I had any more!! Since they are not the healthiest thing to eat I won't make them oft but I will definitely make them once again.
09/27/2007
These are actually a bang-up item to take to a potluck or political party. I take fabricated them almost half dozen times and modified the chocolate-brown sugar amount, for personal preference. For one handbag of wienies I only employ near 1/3-ane/two cup of brown sugar. I constitute three/4 to exist overwhelmingly sweet. Also, make certain to utilize decent bacon, because the more fat the bacon has, the less flavour (and more grease) information technology produces. I cook them in the oven as the instructions say, then take them to parties in a crockpot on low, just to keep them warm. They never dry in there, even by the cease of the night.
08/31/2011
OMG!! These are soooo good! I don't recall my grandsons would let me in the business firm on holidays or birthdays without bringing them some of these. I merely wrap them up, throw them in a baggie with brown sugar. Then bake every bit directed.
02/07/2011
No need for molar pics, and whatever yous do, make at least 2 times more than you lot recollect yous volition need. They go fast! The only thing sweeter than these was watching the Steelers lose!
ten/28/2012
Thank you for this recipe! Anybody loved these and they were the very first things to vanish. I used two packs of 12-oz Hillshire Farms beef smokies and ii packs of heart-cutting Oscar Mayer bacon. Trying to exist budget-witting, I cutting the bacon into thirds. That worked because the stop-pieces weren't just fat. If the bacon were all fat on the ends, some of the smokies would take ended up with all fat. Ane strip of the "thirds" was also pocket-size, but we had enough without using those. (That salary became breakfast.) I used a ziploc bag to coat everything, prepared it the twenty-four hours before (which is GREAT to be able to do), and drizzled the juice that had accumulated in the bottom of the dish over the smokies and sprinkled with a little extra dark-brown sugar when I went to cook them. I baked them at 350 for 15 min each side, then broiled for two min to well-baked them. I then placed them (and the remaining juice) in a buffet warmer set on low. I did this iii hours before our political party. They held upwardly very nicely until devoured by the crowd. Great recipe for doing ahead!
05/21/2011
These are fabled! I made 3 packs of sausages for a get together and they lasted less than 20 minutes. I did endeavour the trick of placing them on a cookie rack and they cooked evenly. I did utilise foil to brand the clean upwards easier. Completely unnecessary, every bit I didn't make the foil long enough to embrace the pan. I made them over again today with a disposable foil tray and sprayed the rack with cooking spray. Way better cleanup. I volition definitely exist making these ofttimes.
11/12/2005
I tried these for the commencement time for a friend's surprise 50th birthday party. I doubled the recipe equally at that place were a lot of people coming. I wished I had made twice equally many as that! So simple to brand and Anybody raved about them! They were gone in no fourth dimension! A existent striking! A hint....apply disposable aluminum pans to broil or line your cookie sail HEAVILY with foil! The brownish sugar carmelizes and makes a syrupy mess to become off of a pan! It's well worth it though!
01/sixteen/2011
This should exist called "Man Candy" all my friends loved it but the men attacked the platter leaving hardly any for u.s.a. ladies. I program to make this for my son when he comes dwelling from college at leap break.
01/17/2012
covered bacon-wrapped smokies with mixture of Sweet Baby Ray's BBQ sauce, ane can cranberry sauce, and some brown sugar all in slow cooker for 8hrs. Nice sweet BBQ season!
09/21/2011
I've made these for years and they are a hit at every party. The simply difference though is that I cook mine entirely in the crock pot for virtually 4 hours. Lot easier cleanup and serve right from crockpot. Just be certain to not overcook the sausages or the bacon volition fall off the toothpick. Yum!
02/05/2011
This recipe is the bomb! Also found on this site was a DIPPING SAUCE that makes the consummate package! Mix 1/iv loving cup mayo, one/four cup BBQ sauce, and 2 tbsp. chocolate-brown saccharide until the sugar melts in. That'due south it....great stuff!
07/26/2012
I followed other reviewers suggestions past using centre cutting salary and dipping it in chocolate-brown carbohydrate and then wrapping the smokey in the bacon in the brown sugar bowl. I wrapped them the dark before and and so left them sitting in a bowl overnight to make for quick cooking the next twenty-four hours. I followed another reviewers thought to cook them at 400 for 40 minutes and so bake the last iv minutes...BAD IDEA. They looked actually dark later on twoscore minutes! I would either cook them as the recipe recommends or higher heat for shorter time (seems obvious, I know, non sure what I was thinking). They tasted ok with the recipe every bit stated merely and so I put them in a pan with the juices that were left from them sitting in the bowl overnight along with 1/4 cup maple syrup as other reviewers recommended and they were MUCH better (the 1 star was taken off because they were a little bland before the improver of the maple syrup). The maple flavor definitely adds a lot. These were a big hit. Side by side time I'm going to be more careful about watching them while they are in the oven. I didn't apply toothpicks because the bacon stuck to the smokies. After cooking, a FEW of them came unwrapped so I stuck toothpicks in them to hold the bacon on. Next time, I will use toothpicks on all of them considering we set these out on a plate and people grabbed the ones with toothpicks outset considering they were easier to option up.
02/15/2011
Very unproblematic and loved by all..from kid to adult!
09/06/2011
Just succulent. I cooked them ahead and so placed them in a crock pot to stay warm of class with the toothpick inserted in them. I drizzled them with alittle maple syrup in crock pot. Will make again and share this recipe for sure!!!
03/29/2011
These are my favorite thing to make for get togethers. Everyone alwasy loves them. I fry the bacon a little first before wrapping and I usually keep in the oven an extra fifteen-twenty minutes to make sure the bacon is crispy.
12/06/2011
What a delicious care for! I put the smokies in a big ziplock baggie, and coated them with the brown sugar. Left them in the fridge for a few hours. Then, after wrapping, putting them onto toothpicks, and laying them on the blistering tray, I took the melted saccharide and poured some over each one. Amazing. I've made them both means, and hither y'all get more of that great brown sugar flavor. Be sure to flip them over i/2 way through baking to crisp the bacon.
07/30/2011
Delicious! I made these for a party and they disappeared fast. Actually it was the only dish that completely disappeared. Thanks for the bully recipe.
07/10/2011
Really really really yummy. A crowd pleaser!!
04/18/2008
I made these for Easter and now my hubby asks for them all the time! I employ 1/4 piece of bacon, wrap them and use a toothpick to secure. (easier to swallow that way) Then I put them in a big gallon bag and cascade the brown carbohydrate on pinnacle and milkshake them. (be conscientious not to poke yourself with the toothpicks!) so I identify on a plate and air-condition overnight. This creates this wonderful syrup. I then place on the baking sheet (FOIL REQUIRED!) and then sprinkle with more brownish sugar. I keep the syrup, and later baking the smokies, I place them in a crock pot and pour the syrup over them. Delicious!
08/07/2011
These were really good and anybody loved them. Just thing is that I couldn't discover a way to use close to all the carbohydrate the recipe calls for. Besides, the directions say baking sheet and the bacon grease all ran off and into my oven. Would use blistering dish and and so let drain on paper towels next fourth dimension.
03/xix/2011
These are awesome - the perfect philharmonic of salty and sugariness!
12/04/2010
HUGE hit! I have been wanting to make these for a long time, simply needed a large enough crowd to make it worth it. I made 90 of them for a party of ten people, and they were gone chop-chop (even my salary hating sister had a few-and liked them!). Everyone refered to them every bit "meat wrapped in meat rolled in carbohydrate" and we all loved it. I put the dark-brown sugar in a ziploc bag and tossed the bacon with it in at that place before rolling effectually the smokies and then sprinkled the leftover carbohydrate on before baking. YUM!
11/27/2011
A real oversupply pleaser. Taking it to a pot-luck once more today. E'er get asked for the recipe. I do brand a few changes to decrease the "artery-blocking gene". I use the turkey smokies that I detect are available about places. Only picked them upward yesterday while shopping at target. I as well employ a low sodium salary which withal has plenty of sodium for flavor. If you like turkey bacon..i have used that in the by and the taste is expert....just not every bit expert equally regular bacon. Mostly due to texture. I like the to upwards the temp to 425 for the concluding 5-viii minutes of cooking just to carmelize or crisp the brown sugar on superlative. Enjoy. My sister in constabulary was visiting with her husband recently and I fabricated these for some football watching. They have a 2 hour bulldoze abode and called me from the road considering they wanted to get the ingredients on their manner. We call information technology "Homo Candy".
06/12/2011
Definitely a way to a man'southward heart
10/08/2011
So piece of cake to make, yet fabulous! These were out of this world. If I could give information technology more than so v stars I would. We made two full trays of them for a birthday party tonight. Our family friend who suffers from leukemia and has absolutely no appetite due to her medication devoured a one-half a tray by herself!!! That lonely makes this recipe stand out to a higher place the rest of the best! Thank you sooooo much for sharing it!
03/10/2011
Of course these are fantastic! What's not to love!?!?
02/05/2011
These have been a family unit favorite for years. A friend used to make these for our Mom'due south group brunches. I take them to a lot of potlucks. We refer to them as "meat wrapped in meat" They're astonishing! I sometimes wrap them with the bacon the night earlier and sprinkle only a piffling chocolate-brown sugar on them. I bake them for nearly half of the the time. Drain some of the fat off, add together more brown carbohydrate, then finish baking.
08/19/2011
Nosotros call these "fissure" weinees where I work. Anybody stands around and eats these from the crockpot while we oooooh and aaaaah
07/05/2011
I literally turned my head and they were gone! I've been instructed to add this to my political party appetizer rotation. Thanks!
x/03/2004
Excellent! I cooked mine a niggling longer (almost one hour) because I like my salary actress crispy. They were a huge hit!
05/28/2011
YUm YUm YUm I made these a week agone and added syrup to the slow cooker and instead of one/third bacon i wrapped in half and did not employ tooth pics information technology turned out good the salary did not seem cooked plenty so today I used 1/tertiary dorsum like the recipe calls for yet no toothpics and added syrup to the slow cooker and I got them only right YUM YUM YUM
02/01/2006
If y'all haven't tried these your really missing something. Line your pan with non sticking alum foil. It will make clean up much easier. Fantastic.
02/xviii/2011
These Smokes are so so good my family love them
01/01/2005
First-class. I served them Christmas morning time. I put them on a platter instead of a slow cooker, they disappeared chop-chop. I didn't find this very fourth dimension consuming. I prepared these early in the morning and put them in the oven shortly before the guest were to go far. I will definitely make these again. In fact, my grandmother asked for the recipe.
02/25/2011
Made these for Super Bowl and they were gone Super Fast! Very piece of cake and oh-so yummy!
02/21/2011
My family did not similar these very much at all.
06/xv/2004
Awesome recipe! It is a little time consuming but all of the compliments you will receive will arrive worth the while. Thank you Jill1018!
02/11/2011
I brought these for superbowl potluck. They were a Hit.
03/30/2011
These were really good an uncomplicated we served these with a horseradish sauce. The only thing is it is quite the cleanup!
02/16/2011
Delish!
06/09/2011
These footling things were such a hitting! I made one batch of them and there were gone and then fast, that i had to run to the store and get more ingredients. They were And then Astonishing!
03/09/2011
This was a big hit when I brought it to my brother'southward firm for a Football Title Game Party. They went fast, and were very tasty!
06/08/2008
I've never made an appetizer that generated such "food lust". One taste, and people want more. Instead of serving with the chocolate-brown sugar/salary grease slurry, drain them, add to the crock pot, cascade in 1-2 tablespoons of maple syrup, and stir. The flavour enhancement is incredible. Also, these go even better as they're warmed in the ho-hum cooker.
12/16/2005
This is a great tried and true recipe. The only thing I practice dissimilar is to layer them in a crock pot with brown sugar. I let them cook on low. I ever get rave reviews!!
02/10/2011
Made for the Superbowl against my married man's wishes, only guess who ended up eating the bulk! Very tasty. I wasn't so certain about calculation the chocolate-brown sugar, so I dusted the smokies very lightly and they were a hit! Volition brand once again.
12/29/2014
These turned out perfectly and disappeared within seconds after they were put out. I was extra careful with prep afterwards reading one review that said they turned into a greasy, viscous mess that had to be thrown abroad. To avert this: I... 1) Blotted the Smokeys dry before wrapping them in bacon. 2) Raised them on a small, dispensable aluminum grill canvas to allow the grease drip off. I think this was a big part of perfect prep. 3) Prepare temp to 425 instead of 325. This served 3 purposes: they finished faster (25-30 min), cooked upwardly a lilliputian crispier, and I was able to bake some crescent-roll wrapped smokies at the same fourth dimension. IF YOU INCREASE TEMP Agree OFF ON THE Chocolate-brown SUGAR. Sprinkle information technology on less than 5 minutes before you lot have them out of the oven so the sugar won't fire. They were PERFECT. I but made 20 this yr, just after they disappeared so fast I'chiliad making a few dozen adjacent yr.
01/08/2005
Splendid-A crowd pleaser, I was worried about time likewise and used precooked salary and worked keen.
01/xviii/2014
Bacon. Cocktail wienie. Some brown sugar and BAZINGA! Awesomeness. A tip: add an sprinkle of cayenne pepper on tiptop the wieners...will help balance out the sweet. You lot're welcome.
02/07/2011
Fabulous. Be careful not to burn
01/22/2005
These are delicious! I made these and took them to a New year's day's Eve party, and EVERYONE loved them! Everyone kept request, "who brought these? can I have the recipe?" Good job on this ane!
12/27/2005
I made these a couple months agone for a halloween party. They were the starting time item gone. People couldn't get plenty of them. Just the other day I got some other phone call from a friend who wanted the recipe. I did as recipe suggested but also rolled smokies in brown sugar before wrapping them and I baked them for a few minutes when cooking fourth dimension was washed and then they would be crispier. Then I but threw them in a crockpot.
02/13/2011
These were yummy, a little sweet, yous cant swallow alot of them at a time, but definately something different to do for a gathering.
12/24/2008
I made these for my family'southward Christmas Eve party terminal year, and they were gone in minutes. I was asked to make them once more this year. I only cut the bacon in one-half, and dredge both the smoky and the salary in brownish sugar, and then wrap the smoky and stick a toothpick through. When all are wrapped, I put them all in a ziploc with whatsoever remaining sugar or any syrup that was made while they were being prepared and allow them marinade in the refrigerator all night. So an hour before I demand them I put them on a foil lined baking sheet and sprinkle them with more than brown sugar. I bake them at 400 degrees for xv minutes, then take them out and flip them over and broil for an additional 15 minutes. Then I put them in the crock pot. I add 1/iv cup pancake syrup to the sugary stuff in the pan and pour that over the smokies in the crock pot. Then when I get to the political party, I go on the crock pot on low until they're gone. *** Small-scale Update: I got a George Foreman grill for Christmas. Nosotros had some of these left over this year. My husband took them and put them on the George Foreman to heat them upwards yesterday, and it just slightly caramelized the sugars and gave them a wonderful sense of taste and texture. Nosotros volition definitely call up that when information technology's fourth dimension to make them next yr!

I make these for well-nigh of my parties. Everyone loves them. I do it a bit different though, I put them in the crockpot. I apply a whole pound of bacon, cut in half, and wrap each smokie. Loosely pack in the crockpot, pour an entire one lb box of dark-brown sugar on top and melt on depression for 8 hours. Apply long bamboo skewers and serve right out of the crockpot. Sooooooooo easy and soooooooooo gooooooooooood!!

This recipe is great! It is definately worth the time, and they definately will not last equally long every bit it takes to ready them.

yummy! My married man LOVED these. I cooked them at 325 for 25 min and then at 350 for fifteen min after that. Kept wam in a crock pot and added maple syrup to the crock pot (simply a lilliputian) to keep them moist!

Peachy recipe, easy for dwelling or potlucks.

These were a hit at my Super Basin gathering. My teenage son and nephew helped make these. No toothpicks needed. I cut the bacon in half. I bought both cocktail wieners and beef smokies. Both are delicious. Be sure to put foil and place on baking sheet for easy make clean up.

OMG! I had a kitchen full of men gathered round the oven waiting for these to come out! The reviewer who called these meat candy aptly named them. Using the ziplock purse method made this uncomplicated to do because the bacon just clung to the smokies without benefit of toothpicks. The flavours were just perfect. Hit of the conjugal shower for a very salary oriented crowd.

Delicious!! They practice get a little greasy while cooking but they taste great.

Subsequently reading the reviews for these smokies I had to try it and I made them for a Christmas party. Well allow me just say "WOW!" They were the showtime appetizer gone and thank God I made double the recipe. They were a huge hit and everyone wanted to know how I made them. I used maple flavored bacon and cut the salary in fourths instead of thirds, and made certain I coated them well with sugar then 10 minutes before they were done I took them out of the oven and tossed them a bit to turn them over to let the other sides get crispy. I didn't put them in a crock pot, I just cooked them in a disposible foil tray and served them correct from the tray. They were gone then fast... Thanks for a great recipe. I know I will be making these over again and again...

And then good! I used a pair of scissors to cut the salary to make quick work of information technology. They fabricated a nice straight cut and I got four smokies per piece of bacon.

These were the first affair gone at our party the other nighttime. I didn't wrap the smokies first because I didn't want the toothpicks to exist sticky with brown sugar then I put some brownish sugar in a baking dish and pressed the bacon downward turned over and pressed it down again and stacked in a pile. After I had all the bacon sugar coated I cutting it into 3rds then wrapped each smokie then went back and put toothpicks in each one. I put them in the fridge till company go here and so baked them. Someone said use a broiler pan so they are not baking in grease only I used a cooling rack and put it within my cookie pan and then they weren't sitting in grease. Thanks for this recipe I am sure I will make these once more and again.

I've been making these for several years and they disappear as presently every bit they are set out! I use the maple flavored bacon which adds a footling something!

My personal bear upon these is to use the Cheddar little smokies instead. This is a family FAVORITE in my house!

If I could give this x stars I would! Everyone loved these and I ran out! Here's a tip, if you dump your sugar on a paper plate, wrap your wieners with the raw bacon and spear them, yous tin can apply the toothpick to pat, roll etc it around in the sugar. The sugar will stick to the raw bacon, rather than trying to sprinkle it on, yous'll get more sugar on and it volition be closer to an equal amount on each one. One time yous've done this and laid them out, sprinkle some more on them before blistering and when they go into the crock pot dump the rest of the sugar on them. Do not apply colored toothpicks the color will exit a small stain/run. The serving size is inaccurate on the recipe, the actual serving is closer to 8-10 instead of 16.

Forget putting these in a slow cooker to stay warm! I couldn't brand them fast plenty last new yr'southward! My husband--we'll drink our lunch while we sentry the game--ate a platter of them alone! What's better than meat wrapped with meat?!?
08/23/2011
Yeah, these never last long when I serve them for a group....even subsequently I triple the recipe. When you wrap anything in bacon...how can you go incorrect?

Gone in 60 seconds! Or and then it seemed.

Non time consuming AT ALL! These powerful avenue clogging appetizers are succulent and super like shooting fish in a barrel. I followed the recipe as written only lined my pan with parchment paper and it was NOT enough!! I should have used aluminum foil and enough to comprehend the pan upwards actually well. I was thinking well-nigh the caramelized sugar but didn't consider all the bacon grease and therefore the pan was hard to make clean up. They dissapeared quickly fifty-fifty though i told people they are called "mini middle attacks". Watch them closely or the sugar volition burn and give a bad gustatory modality to them. Savor!

Very tasty, but non for those watching their waistlines. I used low sodium salary. I would probably precook the bacon a fleck beforehand and so that it crisps upwardly better in the oven without splitting the sausages

I have been making these for several years now and just realized I never rated the recipe! These are fantastic. People ask me to make them for every potluck. One tip I have is employ Oscar Mayer bacon. When I have used another brand I accept been disappointed. Something about that brand of salary makes a difference when wrapping the smokies. The bacon is more than moist and stretches easily to the point where you don't need toothpicks. I have customized this a bit fifty-fifty though they are delicious equally prepared in the recipe. I drizzle the wrapped smokies with a footling pure maple syrup after coating in brown saccharide. I also serve with a dipping saice which is equal parts ketchup and chocolate-brown sugar, a nuance of soy saice and a little garlic and ginger powder. Savor!
